Is there any advanced networking documentation for openSUSE, for things such as VLANs, bridges etc.? The on-line documentation doesn't have much on this. tnx jk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It's not really an openSUSE specific topic - try http://tldp.org. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (4.9°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Actually, at least one of the questions is at least KDE specific, that is how can VLANs be enabled in the KDE4 Network Manager? As for other questions, I would prefer info specific to openSUSE, as that's what I use and have found the generic solutions don't work as well as specific ones. For example, adding a VLAN with the IFUP method is trivial in Yast, but fairly involved, if you follow the generic instructions. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Ah, okay - can't help with that, I never use it.

I find it is often the other way around :-) I guess it depends on your approach - I have always found the non-specific information to be of much better quality (on stuff like lvs, multiple routing tables, traffic shaping, iptables etc). -- Per Jessen, Zürich (5.9°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
