[opensuse] 11.2 -> 11.3 zypper dup

I'm thinking about upgrading amachine from 11.2 to 11.3 using zypper dup. It'll be the first time I've attempted an upgrade this way. I've found http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:System_upgrade which seems pretty good. There's one question I have which it doesn't answer directly, which is how to upgrade the restricted multimedia stuff. The wiki page suggests that one would enable both the packman and libdvdcss repositories before running zypper ref & zypper dup (since it suggests enabling third-party repositories) but does that work or is there a better way? Any other hints also gratefully received. Cheers, Dave -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I would update base repos and allow zypper to install openSUSE versions of mmedia stuff, then when update is done enable other repos and update codecs etc. That will give you some control that some important files are not replaced with packman versions.
Any other hints also gratefully received.
