-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm using wvdial, largely because it is by far the most dependable on this box. What I need, if possible, is a way to start up the connection on boot. I've tried it in boot.local but the screen output states that /dev/ttyUSB0 is not available at that point. I've been unable to find anything in messages that gives me a clue. - -- ...CH Avoid doing business with 'The Link' ISP. I remember in 6.4, there was a script, wvdial.dod IIRC, to do what you want.

boot.local is much to early in the boot process. Try searching for wvdial.dod. I don't know how hard it would be to adapt but I suspect not too hard. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. Thanks, anyhow! - -- ...CH Avoid doing business with 'The Link' ISP. No, boot.local will not work because rchotplug has not run yet, and other things, like the firewall. In fact, nothing is up yet. Read "man init.d", and "The SuSE boot concept" chapter in the SuSE admin book. Then, use "/etc/init.d/skeleton" as an skeleton to build your own "rcwvdial" to run automatically - after installing it with "chkconfig rcwvdial on". -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
