Re: [SLE] Re: buying a printer
Does anybody know whether SuSE 6.3 supports the Multipass 5500 Printer from Canon. I am not able to get it to run under Linux. It is a multifunctional printer i.e. fax+scanner+copier. Does that mean it can run only under Windows. Please advice. Thanks. --- Jim Osborn <jimo@eskimo.com> wrote:

From experience at work- HP deskjets are a pain
network. If you want to use an inkjet, look at
to put on a the printer list
and pick one of the Canon's. If you want to use a laser printer, then HP is probably one of the better ways to go.
Since these are all non-postscript printers, can anyone explain why the network would care (or even know) what brand of printer was in use? Is there a problem in the Ghostscript drivers? I'd assume the queueing would be the same for all of them, and that that's all the network would care about.
Just curious...
