hi all, where to change the words "Welcome to Suse Linux ...." when we are about to login and type user name (am using inittab 3) ? thx
This reminds me: What do I need to change in order to have the console screen (text login) clear/erase on logout? I had done it once a LONG time ago, but I have since forgotten. The easy way is just to just put 'clear' into .bash_logout or whatever is appropriate for your shell if you aren't using bash. -- -ckm

or if you want it to happen for all users no matter what, edit /etc/inittab and remove the --noclear from the mingetty line
