In xfce4 I can drag and drop a .jpg from anywhere onto an openoffice document. In kde4 I can't. I have to use the Insert>Picture>from file dialogue which is a pain. Can anyone help?
Thanks, L x
lynn,
I do not have that problem.
1. open openoffice 2. open dolphin 3. d-n-d a jpg from dolphin Can you do it?
On the other hand I you drop an image on the 'desktop' , then you will not be able to d-n-d this icon to OO except if you are in folder view.

Hi and thanks for replying. Yes. Dolphin drops OK but nothing else does, not folder views either. I'm in the habit of using folder views and have just about stopped using file managers altogether. I want to drop from folder views to openoffice. Any ideas? L
lynn,
1. First be sure you are in folder view: Rmouse /Appearance setting/Desktop Activity/Type drop down menu and select folder view /APPLY
2. Drag an jpeg on the desktop
3. open OO
4. d-n-d the jpeg

Lynn, Go to http://en.opensuse.org/KDE4 and do one click install of the 'factory' version, no the unstable. This will upgrade to 4.2. Many of the problems you find in 4.1 are gone. -=terry=- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
