Re: [SLE] Announce: new APT repository
In list.suse, you wrote on Wed, 01 Sep 2004 18:22:43 +0300: A while ago I tried the ULB-gnome packages, but was dissatisfied with how that version behaved for me, and backed them out again. However, by simply including 'gnome' (not 'usr-local-bin') in my /etc/apt/sources.list file, I *was* able to pick up Gnome 2.6, and have been running happily with it for many weeks now (SuSE 9.1).
I haven't looked at the SuSE 2.6 packages for a few weeks, I must admit, but I had a few problems with them a while ago- dependency issues, missing menus, applets crashing - and I know a few others did too. So, I went back to ulb-gnome, with which I'm very happy. I'll be very interested to see what comes out of the Novell/Ximian/SuSE stable later on. (I just can't get into KDE, no matter how hard I try!!) David
