On a server installation, I see 932 vendor changes to "SUSE LLC" ? all fairly basic stuff, like e.g. bzip2. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (4.7°C) http://www.cloudsuisse.com/ - your owncloud, hosted in Switzerland.

Does that mean we don't get yelled at any more for using SUSE instead of openSUSE anymore? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

"you need to to run zypper dup --allow-vendor-change". Yeah, that much was obvious, and I most often do anyway. I was just surprised by the 932 such changes. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (0.2°C)

"you need to to run zypper dup --allow-vendor-change".
That may cause other unexpected changes.

Yeah, that should be corrected "somehow". -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.2 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Other than that, only one minor hiccup - because I used '--no-recommends', package 'kernel-default-optional' was not installed which means the machine now failed to boot. Installing that package manually and rebuilding the initrd, and the machine is now fine. Overall verdict - looks good. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (7.4°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland.

Sounds like a bug? If the system fails to boot because of a missing package, then that package is a hard dependency rather than a 'recommends', no?
Overall verdict - looks good.

Yep, and it's already in good hands. https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1184413

Yes, I would say so too. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (2.9°C) http://www.cloudsuisse.com/ - your owncloud, hosted in Switzerland.
