[opensuse] w00t! We've got screen capture!
After failing miserably for years trying to get a reasonable screen capture program for Linux, I finally have something working! I had tried xvidcap and other x11/vnc options before reading about istanbul the other day. Thinking it would work I tried it out. It failed as well. Yesterday, I tried out gtk-recordMyDesktop installed via SMART and it works!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQAjPIZR2dg There's a cheesy YouTube video of my donutmonster application running on Linux. http://recordmydesktop.iovar.org/index.php I'm very happy now!! Very cool, bookmarked - I found the seom desktop recording feature in beryl works fine in beryl, but this recordmydesktop thingie looks like a more general solution - thanks for the tip. I've had mixed results with beryl on various hardware - including my most recent lappie with a nVidia Quadro FX 1500M/512MB card. I tried the recording plugin. As it was, too much was - erm - funky on my desktop that I elected to remove beryl and compiz. This does appear to be a good start. There's more refinement needed but hey, I like it! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
