Does anyone have any suggestions? My initial thinking with 6.1 was the kernel and was hoping that the problem had been corrected with the updated kernel in 6.2. I hate to have to break down and get a new machine since

Have you ever tried running one of the 2.2 kernels from the 6.1 or 6.2 disks on your 6.0 box? I've used all three of them, 2.2.5, 7, and 10 on a 6.0 machine and it's truly a drop-in solution. Simply install the lx_suse RPM or linux and linclude RPMs, check the symlinks, and go. Trying one of these kernels would narrow it down from an `Installation problem, possibly the kernel' to an `Installation problem, probably YaST'. Try: make mrproper make menuconfig make dep make clean make modules make modules_install make bzImage make bzdisk (with a blank 3.5" floppy inserted, of course :) What happens when you boot from this new floppy? -- -=|JP|=- (Resident GNUbie) Jon Pennington | SuSE Linux 6.2 -o) super-suser@excite.com | Kernel 2.2.10 /\\ Kansas City, Missouri | AMD K6-III 450 _\_V ________________________________________________________________ Get FREE voicemail, fax and email at http://voicemail.excite.com Talk online at http://voicechat.excite.com -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
