I can open these directories in Konqueror and go to /media/ipod/iPod_Control/iTunes/iTunesControl/Music/f00 and click on the .m4a which opens and plays in RealPlayer or and .mp3 which will open in amarok and plays.

Looks to me like gtkpod is not recognizing the file type. The ipod was purchased today and is for both PC & MAC.

The Ipod is automatically mounted by Suse at the mount point and it is USB 2.0.

Any suggestions on getting this to work?

Problem was libgpod was ver 0.2, should be 0.3. after the update, I can read the ipod database. Art
