But for some reason I'm not able to connect to my very local network at home. I've got the following setup <p> Mac G4 --------------------- Hub ------------------ PowerBook (IP 10.1.1.2) | (IP 10.1.1.3) | | PC running SuSE (IP 10.1.1.11) The problem is that I from the Linux machine can access the httpd server (on the same machine) using the address 10.1.1.11, the same goes for ping, telnet and ftp. If I start a webserver on the G4 machine I can reach it from the PowerBook BUT I can't ping the Linux machine from one of the Macs, neither can I reach it using telnet, a web browser or a ftp client (I get the message "can't find machine"). If I from the Linux machine try to ping the G4 machine or to access the web server it, I just get the message that it can't find the machine. The Linux machine is connected to the hub and the indicators on the network card and the hub is turned on. I tried looking at the routing table but as I understand it (from reading the manual) it should work.
