I have a new Sony Vaio GR on order... Does anyone have experience in getting Suse 7.x to run on one of these? (Dual-boot)
You should go to: http://www.linux-laptop.net/ the Sony section is quite comprehensive, plus there's a link to the Linux-Sony mailing list. The only pitfall I found in putting SuSE 7.0 on my VAIO F801A was a conflict between the battery monitor (for X, Gnome and KDE) that hung my laptop (and I've still not figure a way around it other than disabling them) other than that (and the normal winmodem thing) Linux behaves itself well. (I wrote a bad what-I-did webpage that's linked from the linux-laptop site... one of many such pages) The word is: go for it! :-) Have Fun, Jim. -- James McBoyle /"\ james.mcboyle@sun.com \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign Software Engineer X Against HTML Mail Integrated Software QED / \
