Re: [SuSE Linux] HTML editing, anyone?
The O'Reilly book is a v. good one- another I recommend is by Ian S.
Graham "Html Sourcebook"; John Wiley & Sons; ISBN: 0471257249. If you
are concerened with enforcing W3C standards across a very large and
disparate corporate site as I am, this is an invaluable reference to
have.
Speaking of W3C- I highly recommend a stop there for any HTML newbie:
<A HREF="http://www.w3.org/"><A HREF="http://www.w3.org/</A">http://www.w3.org/
It is where our markup standards are decided upon and employs the
father of the web, Tim Berners-Lee.
Also remember, XML is coming. Learn it now and be a hot(ter) commodity
in the next couple years!

I've been thinking about fiddling with HTML. I can get 50 MB of space for web stuff with my ISP. I haven't really looked for any decent HTML books though. I've printed out the Beginner's Guide to HTML from the NCSA site and it's pretty simple, and a good starting point for me,
but
I think I want to tackle something a little more advanced. I've skimmed Oreilly's HTML book. Have you seen it or know anything about it, or do you have any other good references?
Thanks,
Mark
PS- I'm an emacs man myself ;)

not to sound like a dickhead, but I would suggest learning html, and familiarizing yourself with a text editor (I find vi to be quite adequate), I have seen several WYSIWYG html editors, and they not
limit the learning expierence, but they create documents that are larger than they should be by adding more code than is needed, not to mention the security aspect of things (I have to keep up with security issues, its my job :))...
