I've added a second dial-up connection by Yast2. It uses the same modem but connects to a different server "petmr5" where I was told I have an account whose username is "maura" and same password as for the other account on the server "artsci". When I right-click on the "plug" icon and the Kinternet menu pops up I can select either provider "artsci" (the previous connection) and "permr5" (the new connection). However, when I pick "arsci" and dial in then I hear the characteristic modem noise followed by data flowing in the "plug" that then shows up "coupled with a couterpart plug" and from here on my internet connection is up and running. Instead, when I pick "petmr5" I still hear the characteristic modem noise but cannot see any data flowing into the "plug" and the plug icon never couples whith a counterpart plug and such a connection is left pending !!! Moreover if I right-click on the open plug the Kinternet menu pops up but the item "Check connection" is greyed out in this case. If I select the item "View datarate" from such a menu then I see that no data is being transferred ! I'm too unexperienced at connections to be able to tell on which side is the fault ... my computer (my connection set-up) or "petmr5" server ... I'd greatly appreciate some help at figuring out what is wrong. I'm sending on a separate message tar file (tar cvZf DialUpTar wvdial.conf snapshot1.png snapshot2.png) containing "wvdial.conf" and two snapshots showing the wvdial Log file.... BTW: I ignore where the wvdial Log file is saved ??? Thank you in advance for your help. MEM
