[opensuse] Potential PUP in repositories?
Hi Folks, I've been maintaining local repositories for 13.1 and 13.2 so that I can sneaker-net updates easily using rsync. But the Information Assurance folks here are worried about malware introduction, so I ran clamav on both hierarchies. Clamav reports these as Win.Adware.Browsefox-14026: 13.1/repo/oss/openSUSE13_1_NET.exe 13.2/repo/oss/openSUSE13_2_NET.exe The general category for Win.Adware.Browsefox-xxx seems to be "Potentially Unwanted Program", or PUP. I don't think there's anything to worry about, but the IA people are prone to jerking their knees, if you know what I mean. What, if anything, will break if I just remove these files? Nothing will break, so you can remove it. It is the Windows based installer, which downloads the start initrd and boots it. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
