[opensuse] Setting up the scanner on a Lexmark ALL-IN-ONE X1240
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Lexmark refuses to make a Linux driver for their all-in-one X1240, so I had to use the Linux driver for the Z600 to get my printer to work. Now I am trying to get the scanner to work on it and things are not looking good, none of the drivers listed in Sane will work on it. Anyone know where I should look, or what I need to do in order to get the scanner to work? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFGHVAU9KFprNJUZxARAtAiAKCjFh+3W7zNIfN1ECwNmNVKedVf9ACeMrO2 A4Wkmvgdkai9gkM4BMXliMM= =Ehql -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Though I don't know this particular model, I have an Epson All In One. I used the printer driver for the printer and a scanner driver (I forget what - it is on another computer) for the scanner. I think I picked some Epson driver out of a hat. -- k -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

-- k ========== Kai, You need to use the IScan software from Epson, if SuSE is not including it any longer. I do believe they still provide it though. It works just like the software that's included with the all-in-one for Windows. It should also provide you all the working features of your device at

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 None of the drivers with the sane package does not work with it, but any idea of where I should look for drivers? Perhaps try: HOWTO Configure your SCSI or USB scanner to work with SANE/XSANE from your regular user account http://www.howtoforge.com/sane_xsane_scanner HIH Hylton -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
