[opensuse] which Smart channels?
When Smart is installed (from suser-guru), he offers a number of channels. Are any of these considered "bleeding-edge"? I don't mean the Packman stuff, but e.g. KDE backports. I want to add xine &c. but I don't want unstable versions of things already on SUSE. -- Glenn Holmer (Q-Link: ShadowM) http://www.lyonlabs.org/commodore/c64.html --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You don't need the KDE repos for xine, that ones comes from Packman and not from the KDE repo. The KDE repo is mostly fine, but sometimes there are problems, e.g. kdesu does not recognize the correct password any more... In order to keep the risk minimal while still getting more recent KDE applications, you can enable the KDE:Backports repo and disable the KDE:KDE3 repo. They are split exactly in order to allow that.
