Hi, I am configuring sendmail(oof) for the umpteenth time but this time on an internet server. My MX record is pointing at mail.my.domain Sendmail can and does accept mail for mail.my.domain Sendmail is configured to masquerade like so: user@my.domain Sendmail refuses mail sent to user@my.domain The error is: x.w.y.z does not like recipient. Remote host said: 550 5.7.1 <user@my.domain>... Relaying denied. Proper authentication required. Giving up on x.w.y.z. Can someone give me a cluestick? Thanks in advance, Todd McGuinness

Take a look at the /etc/mail/access file. You will need to include my.domain as a domain permitted to relay through that server. something like: my.domain RELAY -- Scot L. Harris <webid@cfl.rr.com>
