Brian, I received mine. This was my first update. Having heard comments like yours on the list I tremble to think of the hoops that I am going to have to jump through to get the following two. I think I just might keep Ben's advice on contacting Justin Davies on file. Jethro

Jethro I have just spoken to a young lady in SuSE UK. It would appear that my subscription details were lost in the admin change over from Germany to the UK so I have taken out a new subscription....and will have my own copy by the end of this week. I received an email confirmation within minutes of the call ending. My LUG will be pleased.....means they can get their copy back! Thanks to all who replied. Regards Brian
I'm curious, after following this thread, that the subscriptions seem to be mostly euro-oriented. Is there a subscription avaialble in the US ? I took a quick look on the US website, but couldn't find one. My subscription update arrived this morning, and was installed this afternoon with no problems. At least, I haven't found any yet! There are so many improvements compared with version 7.0. The reason for this posting is to say "Thank you" to all at SuSE for all the hard work you have put in to the new version, and thanks also to the KDE team. Cheers Keith
Does the SuSE Linux Pro 7.1 DVD contain the manuals? Thanks, Michael --- As a single slab of rock won't budge in the wind, so the wise are not moved by praise, by blame. -- Dhammapada
Has anyone had any problems installing the new Speed TouchTM USB modem (bridge) driver update in SuSE 7.1? Available for download here: Binary http://www.alcatel.com/consumer/dsl/speedmgmt.tar.gz Open source http://www.alcatel.com/consumer/dsl/SpeedTouch.tar.gz Can I convert this into a SuSE format for install into the Yast2 database? Any hints for Bellsouth DSL access, using this USB modem. .... or just to cancel the service and signup for Earthlink, before the end of the month. I am working for an internet provider in Belgium, we did many tests. At least after a lot of patching and a lot of failures, we have a working PPPoA configuration, but it's still buggy. - bad performance - system crash by shutdown - sometimes kernel panic with a big download - sometimes the system can't find the modem any longer, so no possibility to connect or just a disconnect. You have to reboot the computer after that. We're talking also with the developer at Alcatal who makes this driver. The problem is not in the module itself but in the other things like the hotplug and if you try the PPPoE method in the utility. We hope there will be next releases as soon as possible. Brian I got mine on 14 March after an excvhange of e-mails when they told me they had had shipping delays. They had not forgotten who I was, so I'd have thought that if they still have your records you should have had yours too. I haven't got the e-mails any more but the person I corresponded with, and spoke to on the phone was Nichole Murfitt. Mike On Tuesday 27 March 2001 22:41, Brian Galbraith wrote:
