Cannot get sound out of this ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe motherboard. YaST sets up with no errors, but Test outputs nothing at 100. Found a couple of posts related to my problem, but no solution yet, see below links. The first states that this board is fully supported in SuSE 10.0, which is what I'm running with KDE 3.5. http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showproduct.php/product/1608/sort/2/cat/al..., http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=270323 The logs show... Ok, I'm going to suggest something very basic - as this has happened to me with a couple of our PCs at work just last week. It took me a while to cop on, despite it being very, very simple... The machines also were fully set up for sound, no errors to be seen, kmixr/kamix settings seemed good but no sound for the life of me. Until I *finally* had the brainwave of starting alsamixer instead of kmix/kamix - just to discover that there are some settings that are *not* present in kmix/kamix. One of those setting was "Headphone" and it was set to "on". I switched it off ("mute") - et voilà, sound began. So, it just *might* be something simple like that in your case as well. Cheerio, Thomas
