I have SuSE 7.3 on a Dell Dimension 8200 with an Nvidia GeForce2 MX with TV Out video card. I installed the SuSE and all went well until I tried the X/sax set up when the screen went black and nothing happened. I'm not sure where to look -- According to the SuSE site, nvidia is supposed to be supported? Any clues, tips, hints, ideas for this determined newbie? Thanks!
I installed on Dell 8100 and here is wat I did. Do a YOU and download the NVIDIA_KERNEL and NVIDIA_GLX files and let YOU update. Reboot to run level 3 and login as root. run "switch2nvidia" Run SAX2 Edit /etc/X11/XF86Config and change the "nv" to "nvidia" in the display section as I recall. Add the "load "glx"" in the module load section. Save, exit, login as user, then startx to check. After that and all goes well, then reboot with runlevel 5.
