If it is a Lucent LT modem it may work with the driver available at http://www.linmodems.org The one in my laptop works quite nicely with that module.

Thanks for the link, any special tricks in getting it going? I installed the module, WVdial finds the modem, initializes it, but dies when it can't find a dial tone.

Nothing special, seemed to work out of the box for me with both wvdial and kppp. Give it a run with kppp and minicom, then if you can <shudder> reboot to windows and make sure it still works there. <snipped>
