About the Cable modem. I found that there has been a fix for the Motorola SB4100 cable modem in the Linux kernel since 2.4.6-ac2 and the URL to the changelog is here. http://www.linuxhq.com/kernel/v2.4/changes/2.4.6-ac.html So if I had to hazzard a guess as to if it's possible for this thing to work.
