7.3 keeps gobbling up my memory. So pervasive I have to reboot.

Something must be up with your particular combination, I fear - I have had almost no problems with 7.3 memory and extended uptimes, often leaving half-a-dozen applications running on KDE2 for days or weeks. I had a smilar issue with the kde 3.0 that came with 8.0, but running top always identified the runaway processes if not the solution (which came with kde3.0.1). Maybe time to go through your process table again? HTH Fergus
