[opensuse] resolved [was: HELP openSUSE_13.1 => 13.2 zypper frozen]
at least for now zypper is doing work again. there was a background rpm task doing an install of device_mapper. Once I killed that background task, and deleted the lock file (/var/lib/rpm/.rpm.lock) zypper started working again. On Sat, Mar 5, 2016 at 4:50 PM, Greg Freemyer <greg.freemyer@gmail.com> wrote:
This is a first for me.
I can't get zypper to install anything. Maybe I have a corrupt database?
== details ==
I was upgrading a server from 13.1 to 13.2. No X functionality at all.
I did:
- zypper up (to get the final set of 13.1 updates) - zypper rr (to remove any extra repos) - sed to update the repos to 13.2 - zypper ref - zypper in zypper (just to be sure it was the latest) - zypper dup
It downloaded ~1400 packages, then started installing.
zypper froze for over 10 minutes on device-mapper install.
I used cntrl-C to kill zypper.
Now I can't get anything to update or delete via zypper.
It just freezes.
zypper goes thru the preliminary steps, then it freezes on the output line where it says the install is in progress.
