I found this message on another list rather amusing, and re-posting it without his permission, but do want to give him credit for what he posted. I think linux users will enjoy the comments concerning the reliability of linux compared to windows. ---begin <A HREF="http://www.pcworld.com/pcwtoday/article/0,1510,10261,00.html"><A HREF="http://www.pcworld.com/pcwtoday/article/0,1510,10261,00.html</A">http://www.pcworld.com/pcwtoday/article/0,1510,10261,00.html</A</A>> Split Up Microsoft? No Way, Says Gates by Juan Carlos P rez, IDG News Service March 24, 1999, 3:56 a.m. PT <text skipped> In the world according to Gates, the trial--now in recess--really boils down to an educational experience for the government. "What Microsoft has done in terms of bringing prices down and supporting the Internet, those are all great things. Computer users around the world have benefited from our vision of the personal computer," he said. "So what's going on in court is the government is learning about the technology business ... and we have very little doubt that at the end of the day our whole approach to business will be held to be a fantastic thing and very beneficial to consumers." <text skipped> Gates emphasized the different versions of Linux, a situation that he said yields compatibility problems. He also said that Linux's development has lacked a central organizing entity, which has prevented the operating system from being as reliable as Windows.
