Can someone please give me some ideas on what i might be missing it seems locally i can access the http server here but when someone else from somewhere else try the cant seem to bring the page up and i cant figure out why it wont show thanks in advance Bob

Have you checked in the access logs to see why? Do they get an erro ror access denied? Is it all content? Are you behind a firewall? More info please -- Simon Oliver

You can't use a v2 httpd.conf with 1.3.26. Perhaps that's the problem? If I were you I wouldn't bother recompiling apache - instead use the apache that SuSE provide and install the php package too. -- Simon Oliver

Hi Well seems i got the apache server to answer request seems funny as the other one i ran did work without me changing the port to 8000 but by changing port 80 to 8000 it does work now have an ? is the any where i can add my hostname in so people dont have to add the 8000 port # behind the hostname to get here and it will just redir to 8000 as now looks like people have to do http://hostname:8000 but i am looking for an way they could just do http://hostname and it would be send to 8000 and open the page thanks Bob On Wed, 24 Jul 2002, Simon Oliver wrote:
