[opensuse] firefox does not exiting correctly
Hello: I have a strange problem with firefox. If I close/quit firefox I can't start it again. It gives the message: Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system. I checked the firefox profile directory and found that ".parentlock" file is not deleted after closing firefox. Also ps -u user | grep -i firefox shows this both when firefox is running and after closing it: 5737 ? 00:00:00 firefox 5742 ? 00:00:24 firefox 5762 ? 00:00:00 firefox <defunct> Is it normal that there are two firefox instances? What is that firefox <defunct>? If I remove manually .parentlock and kill those firefox instances I can run firefox again. The problem is not shown in every accounts, only in some of them. I could not find what can be the difference between the accounts that could cause the error. I even tried to delete the old firefox profile and start from scratch, it did not help. I have openSUSE 11.2, KDE 3.5.10, fand irefox packages from build service: MozillaFirefox-3.6.8-1.2.i586 MozillaFirefox-translations-common-3.6.8-1.2.i586 MozillaFirefox-branding-upstream-3.6.8-1.2.i586 What can be the problem and how could I fix it?
