Can't remove MySQL do to lack of /sbin/chkconfig
Howdy, Why doesn't SuSE have an /sbin/chkconfig? The MySQL people have done something to the latest rpm that requires it in order to remove. It is probably a Red Hat thing that's not in all distros. That would be horrible. People like them need to make sure they make packages that work in all distros. Any idea what I can do here? Should i install a chkconfig from rpmfind or will it screw something up? I can't even "rpm -e" it with --nodeps. ---------------------------------------------------- Jonathan Wilson System Administrator Cedar Creek Software http://www.cedarcreeksoftware.com Central Texas IT http://www.centraltexasit.com
If you go into YaST1 you can remove it that way. Choose / Install Package ----> delete packages * Jonathan Wilson (wilson@claborn.net) [010111 13:36]: =>Howdy, =>Why doesn't SuSE have an /sbin/chkconfig? =>The MySQL people have done something to the latest rpm that requires it in order to remove.
