/dev/snd -> /proc/asound/dev

I'm at an nt box at the moment so I can't check directly, but http://www.suse.de/en/produkte/susesoft/linux/Pakete_prof/paket_inhalt _devs.html hows /dev/snd -> /proc/asound/dev there is no listing for /dev/sg[a,b...] only /dev/sg[0,1...]
Could somebody tell me please what devices they were linked originally? Many thanks in advance. Alex
