May be i'm very late and this is for months now, but I just notice there are much more in "yast online update" than patches updates. Is it really possible to install any package from there and to completely ignore the "install and delete software" module? thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos

Though in danger of stating the obvious and risking that your problem is really a different one: "install and delete software" is meant to install and delete software, that is: install software that has not been installed yet and/or delete software that has been. Yast online update is to *update* software that has been installed, not *delete* it. So the short answer to your first question is no. You cannot *install* a package using YOU, but if it's showing in the list you already have and there is a newer version. You certainly can update it using YOU. The short answer to your second question is yes. The two modules do not have a common target. Regards, -- Jos van Kan registered Linux user #152704

Nevertheless, I understand it works: if a package is offered by YOU, even if it is not already installed, YOU can install it.
