I could not find this in suse. Can someone tell me where to find it and how to get user into it? Denis -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

I have an internal ide zip drive. It is properly recognized at boot as a Iomega zip drive at /dev/hdd, so I added it to my fstab, created a dir for it (/zip) and linked /dev/zip to /dev/hdd (ln -s /dev/hdd /dev/zip) . My fstab entry is : /dev/hdd /zip msdos rw,noauto, user 0 0 but when I try to mount it it says there is no valid msdos filesystem on /dev/hdd. Well, there is because all my zip cartridges are properly formatted and have been used under windows. I am using these to archive files so I am using msdos filesystem so they are readable by both os'es. Any ideas why /dev/zip or /dev/hdd won't mount? When I try to mount /dev/zip or /dev/hdd it does query the drive because the light on the drive comes on, but it always returns that the filesystem is invalid. I am stumped. Try something like this in your fstab: /dev/hdd1 /zip msdos rw,noauto, user 0 0 or /dev/hdd1 /zip vfat rw,noauto, user 0 0 for long filenames. If you want to confirm the number after the /dev/hdd scan the boot messages with that will confirm that the kernel found the drive at bootup. urs -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

Hello again, Go into Yast, and start System Administration -> User Administration. Select or create a user, then under group, select DIALOUT. If you want to change an existing user, go into User Admin->F3 (selection)-> Group = DIALOUT. Play around, you can't hurt Yast> :-) zentara -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
