Are there many options for voice mail software under 7.1 Pro? I have a USR X2 external voice modem. I used to use the software that came on the driver CD when I had Win98 installed. Is there any software that can utilize this modem under linux? I also have a Zoom 14.4 internal ISA voice modem, but it won't install into the PCI MB I have now. However, I am willing to set up a dedicated P90 with ISA for the answering machine if necessary. Thanks for your advice. ~Dale ________________________________ Dale Schuster MIS Manager Lake Tahoe Horizon Casino Resort dschuster@horizoncasino.com
Try vocp. its a voice-mail system that runs on linux. I know a few people that have gotten it up and running and like it. http://VOCPsystem.com On Tue, 18 Sep 2001, Dale Schuster wrote:

On my IBM 600E I can't get KDE2 to properly suspend when I close the cover. Instead the screen goes blank for 20 seconds, then comes back with a beep and the system continues to run full speed, draining the battery. KDE1 works fine. Also, "apmsleep -S +0:01" on KDE2 comes back after 20 seconds the same way. On KDE1, it does suspend (and spin down the HDD), but doesn't wake up after 1 minute. I can press a key to wake up the system. Anyway, is there something w/KDE2 that I need to configure? I didn't do anything with KDE1--it just worked. I looked at the laptop tab on KDE System Control with KDE2 and nothing looked unreasonable. Thanks, Jim Cunning
Hi Dale, I suggest you have a look at vgetty which is part of the mgetty package, and is available on the SuSE distrib. This package handles Voice/Fax/Data calls. Also there is a new package based on mgetty/vgetty called calltree I have not looked at it as yet. It is available at ftp://ftp.beta.com/pub/voice/calltreeB3.1.tgz. Information: Calltree is basically an add-on application that allows you to create "call trees", eg - the infamous "For X, push 1. For Y, push 2, ...", etc. that we have all come to know and love when calling various companies Regards Graham Smith -------------------------------------------- On Wed, 19 Sep 2001 05:07, Dale Schuster wrote:
