[opensuse] Problems with package repositories
Hi. Each time I try to install new software from download.opensuse.org (OSS), YaST begins to search a list of files (which I think must be the 'refreshing' of the repositories), but I receive a lot of errors like ERROR: file X not found in http://repository_url. However, when I click on retry, the file is successfully downloaded by YaST. I would like to request to repository administrators an explanation of what would be causing this behavior of YaST. Any body can help me please? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You might want to try disabling all repositories and then enabling each one-by-one to identify which repository is causing the problem. We can't tell from your posting which repositories you are using. When you identify the culprit repository then the issue can be better addressed by the actual administrator. -- ---Bryen--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Not an admin, but would bet that your problem is that the first site where you are redirected is not in sync yet and when you retry you are being redirected to a different site that *is* in sync. The only solution that I can surmise would be to change your repositories to direct sites/mirrors rather than the redirectors, download.opensuse.org and repos.opensuse.org. gud luk, - -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHPiO7ClSjbQz1U5oRAnK8AKCWqKXeAlVxL99X9jXPUosDA+ySbwCeJNA2 W+t0TLRXYmCPTzbpnHa7d2c= =DCZb -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Ok, thanks for the advice. But software.opensuse.org is the only repo I have configured so far, however, so I don't think that deactivating other repos would be necessary. I'll try with the redirectors instead... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hmm... Since he deleted the entire thread, I wonder what part of the thread he was replying to... Inquiring minds want to know. -- ---Bryen--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I remember problems a few months ago with software.opensuse.org. Try downloads.opensuse.org. -- Joe Morris Registered Linux user 231871 running openSUSE 10.3 x86_64 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
