[opensuse] 30s timeout on "wicked" on boot on Tumbleweed
Hi I think i've found the source of the 30s timeout i get with wicked on boot up but i'm not sure how to resolve. If i check Yast/Network, it says i have 2 Network devices, eth0 (no MAC addr or BusID) and enp2s0 (has MAC amd BusID) Anyone know how i can delete "eth0" as it seems to be of no use. I tried deleting it in Yast/Network but it just reappears in the list. Is it configured in the network config files, again i don't know what to look for. regards Ian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

That could be a left-over from a previous openSUSE version, use
find /etc/sysconfig/network/ -name '*eth0*'
to look for left-over config files, and move this file to a location outside of /etc/sysconfig/network/, and test again (Yast -> network config). If solved, that file can be deleted. And, questions about "Tumbleweed" are better asked on the "opensuse-factory@opensuse.org" list. - Yamaban. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks, it worked. I did eventually manage to get work around by setting the "eth0" to manual device activation in Yast/Network/Edit/General.
