i remember having had that problem quite a long time ago; perhaps half a year or so. at that time i found that it was an incompatibility between a particular versions of apache and PHP, specially the ssl_module if i remember correctly. at that time i didn't get this fixed other than to disable that (ssl ?) module in PHP--even though i suspect it's possible to solve the problem by having certain SSL folders in the correct place in your directory tree. since then i've been using PHP from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/php:/applications/openSUSE... and apache2 from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Apache/openSUSE_11.2/ though, and not seen this problem again. -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

This is a newly installed opensuse 11.2 box. Having apache

If I start/restart apache , the web-server does not come and the /var/log/apache2/error_log shows
```````````````````````` [Tue Jul 20 04:04:20 2010] [warn] Init: Session Cache is not configured [hint: SSLSessionCache] [Tue Jul 20 04:04:20 2010] [notice] Apache/2.2.13 (Linux/SUSE) PHP/5.3.2 mod_ssl/2.2.13 OpenSSL/0.9.8k configured -- resuming normal operations [Tue Jul 20 04:08:34 2010] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down [Tue Jul 20 04:08:34 2010] [warn] Init: Session Cache is not configured [hint: SSLSessionCache]
Ignore the warning about session cache. That's just informational, and points to the fact that mod_ssl is loaded but neither used nor configured. (The session cache would automatically be configured and used as soon as you start the Apache with -D SSL, which means to switch on the SSL/TLS machinery. You do that by editing /etc/sysconfig/apache2.) Of course, you could stop loading the ssl module (via a2dismod ssl).
[Tue Jul 20 04:08:34 2010] [error] Failed to change_hat to 'HANDLING_UNTRUSTED_INPUT'
This is the error (sic) that you need to deal with. For some reason, you have loaded mod_apparmor, but it is apparently not correctly configured. Either you need to configured it correctly, or not load it (a2dismod apparmor should do the job). Alternatively, you might need to adjust the Apparmor profile. Check your audit log.
The modules already activated are ( by apache2ctl -M )
You can use "a2enmod -l" instead of that command, which will give you the exact list of modules to be loaded. Peter-- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
