Well, the upgrade worked for me.. I downloaded the RPMs in kde1, kde2, kde4, and kpa1. I then moved all of the KDE rpms into a single directory and did 'rpm _Uvh *1.1.1.rpm'. In about 2 minutes time, all of the RPMs were installed and I started KDE with no problems. My system has been up since that time with no more crashes. So, thanks to everyone that responded.. Greetings.... Okay, there has been considerable "back and forth" on this one, but what is the verdict? If I download the KDE directories (kde1,kde2,kde4,kpa1,etc.) from ftp.suse.com (/pub/suse_update/KDE/1.1.1-with-qt-1.44) TODAY, and if I want to install them over a fresh SuSE 6.1 install (with the 2.2.5 kernel), what should I do?

Do I uninstall all KDE packages, and install these new ones? Or can I simply now upgrade my existing KDE packages? Any other potential problems I should know about?
