Driverloader tech support is pretty good, have you contacted them? I had a lot of problems with ndiswrapper and initially I had some instances of high resource utilization even after shifting to driverloader. Because I use gkrellm I was able to see processes climbing fast and pull the PCMCIA card before it got to lockup. These problems seemed to be solved by a couple tweaks in the hotplug stuff on SuSE 8.2, and creating (duplicating originals) my own scripts in /etc/sysconfig for eth1. Since then no problems with driverloader and I've never looked back.
