[opensuse] disable amarok?
Hello, I am on Leap 42.2. Amarok is constantly resident and takes up a lot of memory. And I don't even like it. I would much prefer if I could disable amarok permanently and remove it from memoryand. When I click media files I would like to see VLC or smplayer start. How can I do this? -- Yours, Mikhail Ramendik Unless explicitly stated, all opinions in my mail are my own and do not reflect the views of any organization -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

How can I do this? This is because you do an error when exiting amarock. If you just close it, it remains resident. But if you "exit" from the menu, then it really closes. You can rightclick on the files in dolphine you want to play usually with a certain application and choose it to be remembered as the default application. You can also at all times uninstall amarok. I did this with vlc on this computer because I had the problem other way round that I did not like to have it.
Procedure: go to dolphin. Right click on the file (mp3, mp4 or whatever file). Choose "properties" Choose "option file type" Look at the table in the lower part called "preference order of applications" Downgrade the amarok in preference or remove amarok from association. If you count not to use amarok at all then you may take it off. Or uninstall amarok right away from yast? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Perhaps he does an error when installing amarock. I know I did. Since corrected. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
