I keep getting a popup asking for root password. Its title is

It appeared after an update of KDE4.7, not the first 'zypper up' of that repository, but one this last weekend.
I enter the root password, it goes away, then comes back about half an hour later.
I realise I _could_ edit system policies, but I'm wondering WHY I'm getting this? I don't recall setting anything in systemsetting that could account for it.
I don't need to, want to and never have set brightness level.
Why is this here now?

It's just KDE trying to restore your display from idle/off, and polkit failing
Yes, I see that. I saw that. But this is NOT when restoring the display, this is when I am working. The screen active and I'm doing things and have been doing things. The screen is not idle, has not been idle. -- Those who wish to seek out the cause of miracles, and to understand the things of nature as philosophers, and not to stare at them in astonishment like fools, are soon considered heretical and impious, and proclaimed as such by those whom the mob adores as the interpreters of nature and the gods.
