Hi all, What determines what the permissions are on the video device files (/dev/video0, /dev/video1, etc.)? I looked in udev files as well as under /etc/sysconfig and thus far have come up empty-handed. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Hi again, OK, this is an addendum to the above. Does anybody know where the main udev rules file, /etc/udev/rules.d/50-udev.rules , has gone. It used to be there under OpenSuSE, definitely is there under Centos5 - but under OpenSuSE 11.1 seems to be nowhere to be found. And that is where the bulk of the definitions are... Any idea what happened to it? Thanks. Boris. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hello again, I figured this one out! Turns out that for some bizarre reason udev configuration is now spread between the following two locations: /etc/udev and /lib/udev. So in the final run I just ended up editing /lib/udev/rules.d/50-udev-default.rules and this did the trick. Over and out.
