yeah, I just printed this as a memo for us.. We're Continetal "Elites" .. and Hubby has been for quite a while, besides which , he's really good at telling off Corporate ,um, well there isn't really a polite word for this guy's antics, nor his person either.. So maybe they will pay some attention to the "Elite" level people even if they don't care much for the average "joe" after all , most elites fly business class and don't have the 7-14 "window" to get the least pricey seats... I wouldn't hold my breath tho. I can't remember what this jokers "official" title was ( I'll search your messages again tomorrow , but for now, I'm going for some down time ( me , not the box) -- j Talkin' to myself again; Wond'rin' if this travelin' is good. Is there something else a doin' ? Somethin' I'd be doin' if I could. But if it all blows up ; and goes to hell;I hope that we could sit upon , a bed in some motel... just singin' all the stories we could tell. j. sebastian it's just an afterthought; okay ? : "Bother," said Pooh, as he torched the forest.
... they must be potheads too! This article (http://h71033.www7.hp.com/object/CONTAIRSS.html) on the hp website explains that Continental Airlines uses a new NonStop system for "ticket reissue, reporting, and security initiative implementation." Under the "Putting Myths to Rest" heading, one can read: "Continental uses a NonStop S86000 server for production and a NonStop S74000 server for development. "Most of our developers are basically Microsoft® and UNIX® system programmers," noted Wang. "When we acquired the NonStop system, some people had heard that it was closed, proprietary, and difficult to learn. But in fact, we were able to produce a mission-critical enterprise system in just six months that's already saving Continental money--all thanks to the open development environment of the NonStop platform." Development in Continental's Technology Group is typically done using Java^(TM) software *on Linux* and Windows machines. Once the application is built, it is uploaded to the NonStop system." Isn't that rather funny considering the Hanks comments... fx -- ______________________ Courtesy of SuSE Linux http://www.nibz.org

Well, it's probably due to the fact that M$ wanted Hanks to earn a little of the under table money they've been shoveling him. Not seeming like a very bright guy this seems to be the only think he obviously thought to say. I wonder if M$' payola program has a severence package. I have a feeling that if he keeps making statements like this he's going to need some other source of cash, since if he's not employed as a working CIO he really can't justify the continued stream of kickbacks he counts on from M$.. Cheers, Curtis. :)
