In fact, if my recollection is correct, all doubt was removed by a Novell / SuSE employee themself (Marcus, perhaps?). We were told in no uncertain terms that if you tried you'd end up with an inert lump.

Thanks Randall, I've just had to recover from a zypper nuke (testing factory) and I've had enough reinstalling for now Regards Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, and an aftershock 4.5 about two hours go. No damage that I am aware. :^) -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

According the the ruler in Google Earth, you're 115 miles from Mount Carmel, IL. Given the much greater propagation of seismic waves in the mid-continent, I'm sure you felt those temblors just fine! Are you ready for the next New Madrid quake?? You're only 275 miles from New Madrid, MO. Interestingly enough, all three of those cities (Plainfield, Mount Carmel, New Madrid) are virtually colinear. I can't wait to find out if my parents in southern Wisconsin felt this morning's rumble. Or, more to the point, if it woke them.

iirc, the census of the discussion in this forum was a resounding no. Hi the reason I wondered was kernel.org does not have different kernels and I have recompiled my own for Athlon 64 plus 64 bit addressing and the only problem I had was with the ACPI, I had to disable it and then it worked fine. I just

I had a brief look through the list archives and what I saw looked to be about a system upgrade to x86_64. Yes...but it's not something I would do and expect it to work the first time. Maybe the 50th, but not the first.
Thanks, Dave P

Only way is to make a copy of your config-files and data. Re-install and copy back carefully one-by-one your origrnal configs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
