[opensuse] 11.2 nvidia drivers
Will 11.2 have a Nvidia repository? I have RC2 KDE live running from a USB stick and no Nvidia repo shows. Yast doesn't show anything about screen resolution either and I'm stuck at 800x600 using sax2. Everything else looks excellent. Thanks. Install the driver manually until 11.2 is officially released.
Thanks for the response. Can anyone give me a yes or no to the question? L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I installed them by hand in R2, Which seems to be the 'official' way. Not sure why. I was told the kernel ABI was not yet finished. I think that is dubious... Still, just add it in the old fashioned way. Also, there seems no need to let it update the xorg.conf file, as there isn't one. Letting it do so seems to make no difference. -- You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. He did. There WILL be a repo when 11.2 is Officially released in a couple of weeks. Till then you had to install it manually. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You have to ask NVidia for an exact answer, as it is they who maintain that repository, in their servers, not oS's. <http://en.opensuse.org/New_NVIDIA_cards> <http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories#NVIDIA_drivers> <ftp://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/> Curiously, and contrary to what Novell says, problems with those drivers have to be reported to Novell at Novell's bugzilla: ] The driver RPMs hosted in this location are entirely built, maintained and supported by Novell/SUSE. ] NVIDIA hosts them as a courtesy to Novell, however all problems and support requests related to ] these RPMs should be reported to Novell via their bug tracking system: ] http://bugzilla.novell.com ftp://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/README - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Thanks. Here:
. . .only packman and vlc have 11.2 repos all the others stop at 11.1
I will check again nearer to the release time as I can't believe that these are the only two repos which will be available. L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I thought the OS 11.2 repositories came on line with RC2. I did an update from RC1 to RC2, and I thought it was via those repositories (which RC1 added in anticipation of where RC2 would be). Perhaps I am mistaken. Perhaps only the link above is not up-to-date. Of course, as 11.2 is not released, it might be pre-mature to list 11.2 repositories on that page. -- You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. VLC appeared about MS8 and Packman during RC1, iirc. You rush things. There are still many packages not available for 11.2. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
