[SuSE Linux] Modem speaker
Hello everyone, I enjoy surfing around the net at 10:00 pm but when it comes to dialing, I wonder how i could cut off this horrible sound that comes from my modem. I use SuSE 5.3 and kppp under KDE. Thank you Tran - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
Append an M0 (that's a zero) to your modem init string. e.g. if your modem init string reads 'AT&F', to turn off the speaker, you should set it to 'AT&FM0' -john At 12:54 PM 11/23/1998 +0100, you wrote:

Launch kppp, goto Setup/Modem/Modem Commands, then look for the Dial String (ATDT) and change it to ATM0DT. Ciao, Stefan - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
