It uses PostgreSQL to store the messages and members. It can be accessed strictly via email (emails, digests, mime-digests), a web interface, or a newsgroup interface (really nice). www.lyris.com -- __________________________ DJ mailto: linux_programmer@hotmail.com
Mailman is also good, free and included with your SuSE distro. - Herman On Thu, 21 Nov 2002, DJ wrote: ->AD> Could somebody please recommend any good mailing list ->AD> software for Linux which is not hard to setup. ->AD> Basically I need to setup a close group mailing list. ->AD> Many thanks in advance for any suggestions or info. -> ->Lyris was nice. I would recommend Mailman. We use it at the Boston Linux and Unix group serving about 20 different listservs. The Greater New Hampshire Linux User Group also uses Mailman. Mailman is all web based. http://list.org/ On 21 Nov 2002 at 13:13, Alex Daniloff wrote:

ezmlm is a very popular mailing list manager. It's what powers the suse mailing lists and many others (essentially all where you subscribe with <listname>-subscribe@...). The name even stands for Easy Mailing List Manager :) I think it's tied to qmail though.

I recall Ckm saying there was a patch for postfix but I have not been able to find it maybe Chris can find the patch and send us :-) -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx

Pretty much, yes.

It still requires a qmail system to explode the mails for the lists but you can use postfix for the backend via QMCP (http://cr.yp.to/proto/qmqp.html). Only large sites would be interested in this though. I think the patch for this is now in the postfix. -- -ckm
