[opensuse] Updated updates
It seems that the official update repo is updated almost every day. I see the filelist is just over 10MB at the moment, so every time I update my repos it needs to download this file first. Now this is probably not an issue for all those with fast connections at home, but it can be a problem for slower connections. Is there something in the pipeline for streamlining this update-of-filelist process? What does Ubuntu(deb) do? it seems updating the repos takes a couple of seconds (only download diffs? or what) Manne -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'm not sure how the new 11.0 handles this, I heard there were some improvements. You could ask in the factory list. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Wait until you try 11.0. It's VERY fast by comparison. -- Robert Smits CEP525G Nanaimo, Duncan & District Labour Council Box 822 Nanaimo, V9R 5N2 Ph 250-753-0201 Fax 250-753-2954 Email labour@telus.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

For interest sake, how does 11.0 do this differently? I thought it was a repo design issue - diffs of the filelist is not provided? (maybe use rsync to get the lists) Manne -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
