you don't say what you are using for network, but: systemctl restart NetworkManager network or systemctl restart wicked network -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
Never mind, it was, er, a technical problem with the wiring. :*( Richmond wrote:

Oops sorry, first was a direct reply... Guess: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Network_configuration#Gigabyte_Motherbo... The same issue may affect your Dell. Test by booting with: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="iommu=soft amd_iommu_dump=" The options are slightly different for an intel processor if I recall correctly, see: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/Intel-IOMMU.txt -- David C. I sent a reply to my original post soon after posting it. The problem was the ethernet cable was not properly plugged in at the back. Probably it became partially pulled out because it was in the way of the cd rom draw. Yes, I felt stupid. Thanks anyway. (My posts take a long time to get through. I don't know why, because they appear on gmane quickly). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
