[opensuse] lenovo b70-80, leap422, intel wireless 3160 not working
continuation of my installation report, specific to the wifi interface not working. The Intel Wireless 3160 device seems to be correctly recognised, firmware is loaded etc. Still, the network does not come up, ifup just reports "device-not-running". I thought perhaps it was a firmware issue and updated to the latest from Kernel:stable, made no difference. I have not had to deal with this sort of thing in a while, I'm not sure where to begin. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (11.2°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Well, post dmesg output after boot, someone may have an idea. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Without the debug output:
AFAICT from googling, there ought to be no issue with this wifi - I don't see any error messages either. If I do "ip link set wlan0 up", I can do an "iwlist scan" and see the SSIDs we have. Any suggestions as to why it just doesn't come up? It's dual-band 2.4/5Ghz, and 802.11ac,a/b/g,n. The accesspoint is 2.4GHz, 11bgn. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (6.9°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Does NetworkManager work?
I have just switched to NetworkManager and yes, it works?! -- Per Jessen, Zürich (6.8°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
